Barmera, South Australia
 

Barmera - Barmera was established as a soldier settlement and fruit growing area after World War 1.  The name Barmera derives from the Aboriginal word, Barmeedjie, meaning Lake.  Barmera is an Administrative centre for the Berri Barmera Council, which includes the towns of Barmera, Berri, Cobdogla, Glossop, Loveday, Monash, Overland Corner and Winkie.
