Obituary

At the grand old age of 87 years,
Mrs. Elizabeth Chivell, relict of the late
Samuel Chivell, passed away at the re-
sidence of her son (Albert), Warrack-  
nabeal, on Tuesday morning. The late  
Mrs Chivell was born in County Kent  
England, and leaving England, per the
sailing vessel " Brankiemoor," in 1840
she landed, with her parents in Ade-
laide six months later. The late Mrs
Chivell was a colonist of 81 years -  
spending 51 years in South Australia  
and 30 years in Victoria. The follow-
ing family survive:- Messrs Albert and
Mark (Warracknabeal), George (Gala-
quil), James Edward (Ballarat), Wil-
liam (Wilkur), Thomas (Long Plain
S.A.), and Mrs. F H Everett (War-
racknabeal), Mrs. A Marshman  
(Brim), and Mrs. Gale (Avon, S.A.)
There are also 34 grandchildren and 45
great-grandchildren.
