Brief History

Krondorf is approximately 4 km south of Tanunda.  The area was first settled in 1847 by germans from nearby Bethany.
Under the Nomenclature Act of 1917 many german placenames in the Barossa Valley were changed.  In 1918 Krondorf changed to Kabminye.  The name Krondorf was restored in 1975.
The Zum Kripplein Christi Lutheran church was built at Krondorf in 1864 and ceased in 1955.
