JAKOBI. -The death occurred at
Quantong on Saturday of Mrs. Emma
Bertha Lydia Jakobi. In the morning
her son, with whom she resided, left for
Horsham, and when he returned in
the evening he found his mother dead
in a chair, death having occurred some
hours previously. The late Mrs. Ja-
kobi, who was born at Croxton, near
Hamilton, 73 years ago, was a daugh-
ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm
Eltze. At the age of 19 she was mar-
ried at Vectis to Mr. Charles August
Jakobi, who survives her. Members of
the family are Wilhelmina (Mrs.
French, Riverside), Clara (Mrs. Wil-
liams, Geelong), Ernst, Carl, Esther
(Mrs. Briggs, Geelong), Otto, Johann,
Agnes (Mrs. J. Wik, Horsham),
Heinrich, Viola (Mrs. Farnsworth,
Geelong). The. funeral took place yes-
terday, Mr. C. W. Jackel, of the Hor-
sham Church of Christ, conducting
the services at the house and at the
Quantong Cemetery. The coffin bearers
were Messrs. H. Overall, A. E. Const-
ley, J. Netherway, J.Dewar, J. Light
and E. Maroske. Messrs. A. F. Weight
&. Sons were in charge of the funeral
arrangements.
