MR. G. WATERFORD
Mr. George Waterford, general sec-
retary of the Australian Natives' As-
sociation, died last night at his resi
dence in Barrelder-road. Torrens Park,
aged 64. Born at Freeling on April
18, 1866, he came to Adelaide as a youth
and entered the office of Messrs. C. von
Bertouch & Co., where he obtained an
insight into real property work. Mr.
Waterford became a prominent land
broker. In 1910 he Joined with Mr. G.
V. Moore, and two years later Mr. W.
L. Whitham entered the firm. Mr.
Waterford was connected with the
A.N.A. for over 40 years. He was ap-
pointed general secretary in this State
in 1898. and saw the association grow
from about 100 members to its present
strength. He was made Federal presi-
dent last year. He leaves a widow and
two sons, Messrs. L. M. and O. R.
Waterford.

Burial of Mr. G. Waterford

associates attended North Road Cemetery
this afternoon to pay their last respects to
Mr. George Waterford (Federal president
and general secretary of the South Aus-
tralian branch of the Australian Natives'
Association). who died on Tuesday.
Among those at the graveside were

P. G. Le Maistre, G. W. Robinson, J. H.
Parkinson, and S. P. G..C ubbins (direc
tors), Arthur Lodge (chairman of trus-
tees), H. H. Austin and Wiliam Brindal
(trustees), and \,. . . R. Mandeville
(representing the Victorian organisation).
Representatives of various branches. of
the association and delegates ..to the
Friendly Societies Association, of which
Mr. Waterford w\as secretary, attended.
Messrs. G. D. Moore and W. L. Whitham,
business partners of Mr. Waterford, were
present also.
Pallbearers were Messrs. Lodge, Austin,
Brnndal, Watson, Robinson, and Barrow.
Floral tributes were received from th,'i
board of directors of the South Australiau,
Victorian, and Tasmanian branches, Tailem
Bend branch, North Adelaide Football
Club, and friends and relatives. Tele
grams expressing sympathy to members of
the family were received from general sec-
retaries of branches througlhout Australia
