OBITUARY  

Elizabeth Jane Heckendorf

Elizabeth Jane Heckendorf (83) died  
yesterday, at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. E. Harper of 252 Bultge Street,
Dubbo.    
The deceased, who was a resident of
Pangee Street, Nyngan, had been ill
for several months.
The late Mrs. Heckendorf was born
at Rutherglen, Victoria, and was
married to the late William Ludwig
Heckendorf who died in 1923.
With her husband, the deceased
came to Kia-ora, Mullengudgery, in
1899, where they were very successful
pastoralists, the family being held in
high esteem in the Western district.
She is survived by five sons, John (of
Orange), Herbert (of Nyngan), An-
drew (of Nyngan), Oswald (of
Nyngan), and George (of Nyngan),
and daughters Amelia (Mrs. C.
Schwarting of Nyngan), Hilda (Mrs.
E. Harper of Dubbo), and Ruby (Mrs.
S. Wye of Nyngan).  
One son Fredwick, passed away  
several years ago.
The deceased had 29 grand-children,
and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will leave Shakespeare's'
funeral parlours tomorrow morning,
and after the ceremony at the Metho-
dist Church, Nyngan, the interment
will take place in the family vault at  
the Nyngan cemetery.
