OBITUARY
Mr. William Kroncke, 54, who died
at the Calvary Hospital, North Adelaide
recently, was the youngest son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. A. Kroncke, of Maitland and
and was born in that district.
At the age of 22 he married Miss Mary
Richardson, the youngest daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Richardson
of Burra, and Adelaide. The
late Mr. Kroncke was a member of the
Adelaide Fire Brigade for a number of
years, but was better known, while
carrying on business at the Stag Hotel,
Rundle street, for many years, and later
at the Oakfield Hotel, Flinders street.
He was an enthusiastic member of the
old Oakfield Hotel "Cork Club," inaugu
rated by the late Mr. Tom Richardson.
He retired from active business in 1921,
and resided at his late home, "Cul
zean," Esplanade, Henley Beach. He
was a great lover of animals and
flowers, and was an enthusiastic mo
torist; he also became a member of the
Henley Beach Council for a short
period. Mrs. M. Kroncke survives, also
a family of two daughters and one
son—Mrs. K. Burton, of Henley Beach;
Mrs. F. Kitto, of Henley Beach; and
Mr. Will Kroncke, also of Henley
Beach. There is one grandchild.
