61920SUICIDE BY A GERMAN -A correspondent informs
us that a most determined, suicide was committed
at Splitter's Camp, Digby Forest, on Friday the 1st
instant. A German, named Richard Kroncke,
about thirty-three years of age, hung himself from
the limb of a fallen tree, the branch not being more
than three feet from the ground. He was found
quite dead by his mates about six o'clock in themorning. He was one of the successful applicantsfor land at the sales at Hamilton, and succeeded inobtaining 115 acres of land at Muntham, Eversince his success in the land office he appeared ,yerymuch dejected, as he feared that he had not money.sufficient to make tho required improvements. Onthe 2nd instant, an inquest was held at the DigbyHotel, by District Coroner Radford, and afterhearing one or two witnesses, the jury returned., averdict that the deceased hung himself in a fit oftemporary insanity. Kroncke has no friends inthis colony, and leaves considerable money andproperty in the hands of the police. - RiverinaHerald, September 13th.
