OBITUARY
Mr. Johann Gottfried Schild, who
died at Point Pass last week at the age
of 90, was bom at Thiemdorf, Bran
denburg. He married Miss Louise
Jochinke in I866, and they made their
home in Australia in the same year.
Mr. Snhild was the first settler at Point
Pass in 1868, on land where he remained
until his death. He took a prominent
part in building the first school and
church at Point Pass. His wile and
eldest son died last year. He is sur-
vived by three sons and two daughters.
