72240Obituary.— Mr. Hermann Adolph Theodore
Oelmann, the noted tenor singer, who was
well known and much respected throughout
South Australia, aged 48 ; a native of Bruns-
wick, Germany, and came to the colony
about 1857 ; leaves a widow, three sons, and
a daughter.

72242We announce with regret the death of Mr.
Hermann Oelmann, which occurred last night
at the King of Hanover Hotel, Rundle-street.
In the business world be became well known
first as traveller and then as partner of the
firm of G. & R. Wills & Co, while he had a
special circle of friends among musical men
because of bis excellent voice and his general
proficiency in the art. Latterly a still
wider public were added to the list of his
acquaintances by the genial and attentive
fashion in which he carried out his duties as
landlord first of the Hamburg and then of the
King of Hanover Hotel. Mr. Oelmann was
still a comparatively young man—he was born
in 1841—but be had seen much trouble, and
had suffered greatly from ill health. Within
the last year two of his daughters had passed
before him into the silent land. The burial
will take place at West-terrace Cemetery on
Sunday afternoon.
