OBITUARIES.
Mr. J. L. Flett,
As announced in our last issue the
death occurred at Attamurra on
Thursday last of Mr James L. Flett.
The deceased, who was 72 years of
age, was born at Kirkwall, in the
Orkney Islands. He came to Australia
in the "Sixties," and landed at Port
Adelaide. After remaining in Adelaide
for about a year he came on to Mount
Gambier. For a time he was employed
by Mr. T. Wells, of Yahl, and after-
wards he was employed by Dr. Jack-
son. In 1884 he took up a farm at Mil
Lel, and about 10 years ago re-
moved to Attamurra, where he re-
sided till his death. The deceased was
well known and respected. He leaves
a widow and seven surviving children.
They are Mesdames J. Thomson, (Bay
road), and A. Bigham (Glencoe West),
and Miss A. Flett (Attamurra); and
Messrs. James, Robert, and Lindsay
Flett (of Mount Gambier), and William
Flett (of Port Elliott). The funeral
was held on Sunday, and there was a
large attendance at the graveside. The
Rev. Mr. Cully (Presbyterian) con-
ducted the service, and Bro. F. Dodd
read the Oddfellows' burial service.
