dinand Schwartzkopff, 85,
of Tanunda, died on June
15. He was born at Row-
lands Flat on March 8, 18
67, being a son of the late
Mr and Mrs Theo W. F.
Schwartzkopff. Baptised at
Langmeil Church, he atten-
ded Rowlands Flat School
and was confirmed at Lang-
meil by Pastor Auricht. He
worked for some time with
his late brother Oscar on a
farm, then at Robertstown,
and was later apprenticed to
the blacksmithing trade with
his brother Theodor at Lyn-
doch. At Rosedale he and
his brother Charles opened
business. He also worked
as a blacksmith in Adelaide.
In 1902 be took over his
father's farm at Rowlands
Flat with his brother Gus-
tav who died in 1908. On
Dec. 2, 1897, he was mar-
ried by late Dr. Eitel to El=
izabeth Johanna Seiboth in
A.delaide. In 1946 he retir
ed to Tanunda. He under
went an operation about two
years ago, but was in ill
health until the end. Mrs
Schwartzkopff died in 1948.
Surviving are a brother,
Bernhard, of Adelaide; and
children, Wilhelm, Penrice;
Meta (Mrs A. Behn) River-
ton; Elsie, Tanunda; Rosa
lie (Mrs J. Phelps) River
ton. Rev. S. Held minister
ed at the funeral at Row
lands Flat on June 17, the
bearers being Messrs A. Bo-
senberg, F. Gramp, Geo.
Haese, W. Obst, F. Schultz
and H. Zadow.
