Mr. Leonard Lewis Lovegrove. who died
at Strathalbyn on Saturday, had reached
the age of 96 years. He was born at
Roughey Park, Horsham, Sussex, on April
5, 1820. He arrived at Port Adelaide from
England in the ship Calphurnia on Good
Friday, 1849. He was married to Miss
Mary Creed in the Blakiston Church, near
Mount Barker, and his wife died 30 years
ago. There are three surviving sons
(Messrs. John D., Thomas, and Edward
Lovegrove) and three daughters (the
Misses Kate and Olive Lovegrove and Mrs.
Bessie Macklin).
