Another old identity of this district

passed away on Tuesday last,
at Broken Hill, in the person of Mrs
Elizabeth Spangler, widow of the
late Mr August Spangler, who died
in 1897. The deceased lady, who
was 72 years of age, was a native of
South Australia, having been born
at Callington, and had resided at
Moonta Mines for a period of 48
years, prior to going to Broken Hill
about two years ago. She leaves
four sons—F. J., A.. H., and A. S.
Spangler, of Moonta Mines—and five
daughters—Mesdames D. Smith
(Broken Hill), W. Jones, (Broken
Hill), J. E. Carter (Torrensville), R.
Blows (Broken Hill), and E. Dennis
(Torrensville). Messrs Joseph and
James Harding, of Quorn, are
brothers. Her, remains were interred
in the Moonta cemetery on
Thursday afternoon, the Rev J. A.
H. Andrews conducting the barial
service.
