OBITUARY

GEORGE ALBERT HEINRICH
By the death of the above the dis
trict has lost one of its very best
farmers and a man whose character,
was of the highest standing. Indeed,
it would be hard to find a better
all-round man, using the word "man"
in the broadest sense to cover every
thing that goes to make completeness
in all the attributes of the ideal person.
A faithful husband, good father, and
successful in his undertakings his life
was one such as did not give any
cause for regret. And his ending of
life must have been without pain. He
had been several days in the Condo-
bolin District Hospital and returned
to his home at Ootha feeling alright.
On Tuesday last, 6th inst., feeling in
dined for a look round the farm, he
said he would just go for a ride
round the property, and left the
house. This was about 10 a.m. Shortly
afterwards, Mrs. Heinrich went out
to see if he had gone and received
the terrible shock of finding him dead
alongside the horse on which the
saddle had just been placed.
Deceased, who was 63 yearsof age,
was born at Quorn, South Australia,
was married at Gunbar on February
20, 1911, to Elizabeth Annie Ross. He
came from South Australia to Temora
in 1906 and from there to Condobolin
district in 1908, settling at Ootha on
the property known as Mayfield. From
partly its virgin state it was cleared
and improved, year after year, till it
was made an ideal farm with com
fortable residence and all necessary
outbuildings — a home where there was
ever a welcome and hospitality shown.
Surviving children are George
(R.A.A.F.), Carl, Ruth, Una, Bert
(A.I.F.). There are three grandchild
ren. Three sisters are living, Miss
Lena Heinrich, Mrs. Leckley, Mrs.
Lusk, and one, Mrs. Williams, died
only four weeks ago. Two brothers,
Carl and August, are living.
The late Mr. Heinrich despite his
busy home life, found time to take
active part in public movements that
were chiefly of benefit to the man on
the land. He was particularly active, in
the Yarrabandai branch of the
Farmers and Settlers' Association, the
Ootha branch of the Agricultural
Bureau and Condobolin P.A.H. and I.
Association.
The burial took place in the Pres
byterian portion of the Condobolin
cemetery on the Wednesday afternoon,
the funeral cortege being one of the
largest yet seen in Condobolin. The
Rev. Johnson officiated both in the
church and at the graveside, and the
funeral arrangements were in the
capable hands of Mr. Robert Marlin.
Many brother Masons of the Condo
bolin Lodge were present and the
Masonic burial ritual read by Mr. H.
C. Hodby.
We extend our sincere sympathy to
the bereaved ones.
