Thursday of the death of Mr Jacob
Haub, of Pine Vale , Tubbul, at
Molong Private Hospital, Sydney.
The deceased, who was 69 years of
age, went to Sydney in his usual
state of health on Monday week,
but on the Wednesday was seized
with hemorrhage of the brain,
which led to the whole of his right
side being paralysed. He became
unconscious and spoke no word
between that time and when he
died. He was a native of Ger-
many, but eame to Victoria as a
young man. Tie arrived in this
State when the gold fever was on,
and came on to L,ambing Flat.
Then he followed up other rushes
at Forbes and elsewhere, after-
wards coming back. to Young,
where he married a sister of Mr
Chris. Reus. lie went over to
Victoria again and went in for
farming, but in !$S5 returned to
Young and took up land at Tubbul
where he remained until a few
years ago, when he retired and
lived privately in Burrowa-street,
Young. He reared a family of
four sons and two daughters. Two
of the sons (Messrs Jacob and
Chris.) and one daughter (Mrs G.
Cattle) are residents of this district.
The others reside at Young, the
sons (Messrs William and Louis)
being on the farm at Tubbul, and
the daughter is married to Mr C.
Tiedemann. The remains were
conveyed to Young and interred in
the cemetery on Friday afternoon
last.
