OBITUARY.


The remains of the late Mrs Maria
Tilka were laid to rest in the Kings
cote Cemetery on Sunday morning
last, November 18th. There was a
large gathering of relatives and friends
at the graveside. Mr V. H. F. Cook
read the burial service. The late Mrs
Tilka who was about 90 years of age
was born at Brandenburg Germany
and with her husband, the late
Martin Tilka came out to Australia
during 1876. in the sailing ship
'City of Adelaide.' After residing
at Klemiz and Riverton they came
came to live on the Island during the
early Eighties. They settled at
Cygnet River and the deceased con-
tinued to reside there until her death.
The family residing on Kangaroo
Island are Messrs G. A. and K. A.
Tilka, Mesdames W. J. May, W. A.
Boettcher and E. Burgess.
