Mrs. Bertha Mundy, who died at theresidence of her daughter, Mrs. Gordon, Lyndoch, on June 22, was bornin Port Lincoln 70 years ago. Shewas the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.James Gates — the latter being one ofthe first colonists.Mrs. Mundy was the widow of Mr.David Mundy, who died in March 1921.They had been married 52 years. Mr.Mundy was born at Auburn, and hadcome to- Port Lincoln with' his par,ents in 1860, and settled on the blockof land running through front Edinburgh street to Napoleon street,which is still in possession of thefamily.Mrs. Mundy had lived in Port Lin-coln all her life, and was much respected. Mrs W Argent, of Port Lin=coln, and Mrs. T. Sims, of Cleve, aresisters.' Mrs. Mundy left .seven children.They are : — Messrs. Edgar DavidMundy, Robert Percy Mundy andJames Wallace Mundy (Port Lincoln),'Bud Henry Bernard Mundy (Port Haslam)' ; and Mesdnmes E. N. Evansand G. Gordon (Lyndoch) and EGroves (Tanunda) There were also22 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.The remains were brought to PortLincoln on the Minnipa on Tuesday,and intarred in the Happy ValleyCemetery on Wednesday afternoon.
