Mrs. Bertha Mundy, who died at the

residence of her daughter, Mrs. Gor
don, Lyndoch, on June 22, was born
in Port Lincoln 70 years ago. She
was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
James Gates — the latter being one of
the first colonists.
Mrs. Mundy was the widow of Mr.
David Mundy, who died in March 1921.
They had been married 52 years. Mr.
Mundy was born at Auburn, and had
come to- Port Lincoln with' his par
,ents in 1860, and settled on the block
of land running through front Edin
burgh street to Napoleon street,
which is still in possession of the
family.
Mrs. Mundy had lived in Port Lin-
coln all her life, and was much re
spected. Mrs W Argent, of Port Lin=
coln, and Mrs. T. Sims, of Cleve, are
sisters.
' Mrs. Mundy left .seven children.
They are : — Messrs. Edgar David
Mundy, Robert Percy Mundy and
James Wallace Mundy (Port Lincoln),
'Bud Henry Bernard Mundy (Port Has
lam)' ; and Mesdnmes E. N. Evans
and G. Gordon (Lyndoch) and E
Groves (Tanunda) There were also
22 grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren.
The remains were brought to Port
Lincoln on the Minnipa on Tuesday,
and intarred in the Happy Valley
Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon.
