ZEINERTStill another very old district resi-
dent, Mr C. Henry
Zeinert, died on
Friday in the Albury Hospital, aged
78 years, over 50 years of which were
spent in
Wodonga.
Until quite recently he had enjoyed
very good health
The late Mr
Zeinert was born in
Adelaide in 1863. His parents came
to the South Australian capital in the
second oversaeas boat to arrive at Port
Adelaide, after 16 weeks travelling in
the sailing ship "Zebra."
Right throughout his career in these
parts deceased has been a hardwork
ing, industrious man.
In the main he carried out fencing
contracts, and was an adept at that
work.
In his earlier days he was inter-
ested in mininig,and, with his brother
Arthur (now deceasedl) discovered gold
nearly on top of Huon's Hill (now Cr
Wastson's property ) which promised
well. The mine was subsequently sold
to a local syndicate, but did not prove
of much value.
Deceased was unmarried. Of more
recent years he lived with his brother
Albert. The burial took place at
Wodongaon Saturday, when Rev Ph. Rudolph
read the last rites of the Lutheran Church
The burial arrangements were in the
hands of McCullough & Dunstan.
