Mr, Henry French, whose death oc-
curred at Willochra on Saturday, was the
second son of Mr. Isaac French, who ar
rived in this State from Gloucestershire in
1838. He was born at Fourth Creek in
the year 1840. In 1863 he married Miss Janet
Campbell, daughter of the late Mr. Wil-
liam Campbell, of Roseworthy. Mr. French
took up land at Booyoolie when that coun-
try was first thrown open for selection,
and was successful as a farmer. Later he
removed to Arden Vale, near Quorn, and
in 1889 bought property at Willochra. He
engaged in pastoral pursuits at Emu
Down station. Pandurra, in 1895. The de-
ceased took a keen interest in public
affairs, and was chairman of the
Kanyaka District Council for many years.
