Mrs. M. Huppatz, who died at River-
ton, at the age of 101, was the oldest
resident in the district. Born in
Kottbus (Germany), she came with her
parents to South Australia in 1857, and
two years later married her late hus-
band. With the exception of two years
at Angaston, she had resided in the
Riverton district since her arrival in
this State. At the age of 100 she at-
tended worship in the Peter's Hill
church, when a special service was
held. She kept up various duties about
the home until a few years ago when
a serious illness overtook her. Mr. F. C.
Huppatz is the only surviving son.
