A CORONER'S INQUEST was held at the Turf

Hotel on Monday last on view of the body of
Isaac Polkinghorne, who was accidently killed
while sinking a well on the premises of Mr
Sladden at the Kangaroo Inn on the road to
Onkaparinga. The deceased was in the act
of descending a well when some part of the
machinery gave way and he was precipitated
to the bottom. He died a few days afterwards
from the bruises which he received. The jury
returned a verdict "accidental death."
