MURRAY BRIDGE, June 30.-A sad
case was heard at the Police Court on
June 25, when five children of Mrs. Rath
mann, aged from 1 to 13 years were
brought before Messrs. T. Scott and R.
Edwards, and charged with being destitute.
Shortly after their arrival in the town
the husband deserted his wife and children,
leaving them in a state of poverty, and for
some time past they have been living on
charity. As tlie mother is, owing to ill
health, unable to keep any of her offspring,
they were sent to the Industrial School at
Edwardstown till they attain the age of 18
years.
