MURRAY BRIDGE, June 30.-A sadcase was heard at the Police Court onJune 25, when five children of Mrs. Rathmann, aged from 1 to 13 years werebrought before Messrs. T. Scott and R.Edwards, and charged with being destitute.Shortly after their arrival in the townthe husband deserted his wife and children,leaving them in a state of poverty, and forsome time past they have been living oncharity. As tlie mother is, owing to illhealth, unable to keep any of her offspring,they were sent to the Industrial School atEdwardstown till they attain the age of 18years.
