MR. PETER TILBROOK.

On Wednesday Mr. Goff Tilbrook re-
ceived word of the death of his father,
Mr Peter Tilbrook, which took place at
his residence, Finnis Street, North Ade-
laide, at 4.30 that morning. The deceased
gentleman was a native of Cambridgeshire
(England), and was 95 years and 6 months
old. He landed in South Australia be-
tween 55 and 60 years ago, when that State
was in the embryonic stage, and he took
a keen and intelligent interest in the pro-
gress of the places in which he resided,
and saw tbe great city of Adelaide grow
from a comparatively primitive hamlet to
it present magnificence. He was always
a straight-goer, and his integrity and high
personality won for him the esteem of
everyone. These grand traits of charac-
ter are perpetuated in his children, (Mr.
Goff Tilbrook and Mrs. J. Tilbrook), two
very much esteemed residents of Molong.
Three sons and three daughters survive
him, viz Messre Goff (Molong), Henry
(Adelaide) and Alfred (Clare, South Aus-
tralia), Mrs. J. Tilbrook (Molong), Mrs.
B. J. Smith and Mrs J. Williams (Ade-
laide), Mr J. Tilbrook, Molong, is a
nephew of deceased. We extend our
sincere sympathy to the bereaved rela-
tives.
