OBITUARYMRS. MARY KREMERThe death occurred recently atSpringfield, of Mrs. Mary Kremer,widow of the late Mr. Michael Kremer.Born in Sydney on September 28,1842, the late Mrs. Kremer was oneof the oldest pioneers of the dis-trict. She was the third daughter ofArthur Hall Connor, of Ballinderry,Ireland, whose family records dateback as far as the year 1200.The late Arthur Hall Connor sailedfor Australia in the ship Herald ofSt. John, and reached Sydney onJuly 15, 1840. Shortly afterwards hesettled around what is now knownas Rosemonte.He was a personal friend of Cap-tain Hovell, the explorer. He diedon January 10, 1885, and was buriedin the old cemetery at North Goul-burn.With the passing of Mrs. Kremerthe last of the Connor family of thefirst Australian section ends.The late Mrs. Kremer rememberedquite well the time the bushrangers,Hall, Gilbert and Dunn held up theFaithfull brothers, the Braidwoodmail Coach and other vehicles atwhat is now known as the Mine Hill.Her husband took ammunition to theFaithfull brothers when they werehaving their encounter with bush- rangers.She is survived by six daughters(all of Sydney), and three sons,Spencer (Trundle), John (Sydney),and Arthur (Springfield). There are15 grandchildren and 23 great-grand -children and 2 great-great-grandchildren.The interment took place at theold cemetery at North Goulburn.
