Mrs. M. A. Toholke

Mrs. Mary Ann Toholke, widow of
Mr. John Toholke, who died at
Jamestown on October 23, was born at
Mount Pleasant on May 28 1865, a
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.
A. Penn. She was educated at the
Mount Pleasant school. When 12
years of age she made a journey to the
far north in a bullock dray. In 1885
she married Mr. Toholke, and the
couple lived at Coomooroo until 18
years ago, when they went to James-
town. Mr. Toholke died in 1927. Dur-
ing her residence at Coomooroo and
Jamestown, Mrs. Toholke was an ac-
tive worker in the Methodist Church.
Her twin sister, Mrs. Hibberd, resides
at Gawler. Four sisters and four
brothers are living. A family of four
sons and four daughters survive. They
are: — Messrs. Allen (Prospect); Lux-
ton and Cleve (Jamestown), and Ed-
gar (Sydney). Miss Ethel Toholke
(Jamestown). Mesdames (Mabel),
Scriven (Wayville), (Jessie), J. Wis
nevske (Jamestown), (Marion), R.
Chellew (Torrensville), and one step
daughter, Mrs. Rumble Western Aus
tralia). There are seven .grandchil
