Mrs. M. A. ToholkeMrs. Mary Ann Toholke, widow ofMr. John Toholke, who died atJamestown on October 23, was born atMount Pleasant on May 28 1865, adaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Penn. She was educated at theMount Pleasant school. When 12years of age she made a journey to thefar north in a bullock dray. In 1885she married Mr. Toholke, and thecouple lived at Coomooroo until 18years ago, when they went to James-town. Mr. Toholke died in 1927. Dur-ing her residence at Coomooroo andJamestown, Mrs. Toholke was an ac-tive worker in the Methodist Church.Her twin sister, Mrs. Hibberd, residesat Gawler. Four sisters and fourbrothers are living. A family of foursons and four daughters survive. Theyare: — Messrs. Allen (Prospect); Lux-ton and Cleve (Jamestown), and Ed-gar (Sydney). Miss Ethel Toholke(Jamestown). Mesdames (Mabel),Scriven (Wayville), (Jessie), J. Wisnevske (Jamestown), (Marion), R.Chellew (Torrensville), and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Rumble Western Australia). There are seven .grandchildren.
